WCTE together with Gamuda Berhad had on 3 July 2005 been awarded a project to construct part of the Dukhan Highway in Doha, Qatar by the State of Qatar Public Works Authority. The contract is valued at QRs. 750 million or approximately RM784 million.

The Dukhan Highway Project involves the construction of a 43km new four-lane dual carriageway starting about one kilometer to the east of the town of Shahaniya and continuing into the existing Zekreet interchange near the Dukhan Industrial Area. The scope of works includes the construction of road works, bridge works and ancillary works to replace the existing two-lane single carriageway.

The contract period is for 24 months and WCTE has a 49% stake in the project.
