This forms part of the RM 1.2 billion Second East-West Highway Project linking Perak and Terengganu, covering a stretch of 315km from Simpang Pulai to Kuala Berang. The project cuts through the main mountain range connecting to the renowned largest and most genteel of the hill resorts of Cameron Highlands in Malaysia, which is located in Pahang's northwestern corner, at an altitude of 1,829 meters.
Project scope of works included Site Clearance & Demolition works (250 ha), Earthworks (6,722,249m2), Drainage Works, Pavement Works, Bridges & Structures, Retaining Wall, Grunting and Soil Nailing.
