PETALING JAYA, 30 JULY 2026 – WCT Holdings Berhad (“WCT” or “the Group”), with businesses spanning engineering and construction, property development, and property investment and management is advancing its sustainability agenda by strengthening engagement with its suppliers through the Vendor Sustainability Readiness Dialogue: Prepare for Future ESG and Project Requirements.
The session brought together representatives from WCT, BSD Consultancy Sdn Bhd (“BSD Consultancy”), Climate Asia Pte Ltd (“Climate Asia”), a subsidiary of BSD Consultancy and selected strategic suppliers within WCT’s supply chain. It aimed to enhance supplier awareness and readiness in response to evolving Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) and carbon-related expectations, particularly in relation to customer expectations, supply chain competitiveness, and financing considerations.
The session also introduced WCT’s upcoming ESG Queen Bee Programme (“Programme”), a paid supplier support programme to be implemented over a period of up to two years. Year 1 will focus on ESG training and knowledge sharing, carbon baseline assessment and decarbonisation strategy development, while Year 2 will involve carbon reassessment for participating suppliers that proceed with implementing the proposed decarbonisation strategies from Year 1. Programme fees will be determined based on the size and scope of each participating supplier’s operations.
As part of this initiative, WCT formalised its collaboration with BSD Consultancy through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) to establish a framework for the development and implementation of the WCT ESG Queen Bee Programme. Climate Asia, as a subsidiary of BSD Consultancy, will support the Programme through its technical expertise in sustainability and carbon-related advisory.
Dato’ Lee Tuck Fook, Group Managing Director of WCT, said, “At WCT, we recognise that building a sustainable future requires collective effort across our value chain. Our suppliers are important partners in this journey. Through the ESG Queen Bee Programme, we aim to support selected suppliers in strengthening their sustainability readiness and capabilities, while contributing to a more resilient and future-ready supply chain.”
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ir. Anthony Teoh Teik Thiam, Managing Director – Engineering and Construction, said, “Our suppliers play an integral role in the successful delivery of our projects. As ESG and carbon-related expectations continue to evolve across the construction and property development industry, it is important that we work closely with our suppliers to strengthen their capabilities and preparedness. This Programme is an important step in helping our supply chain move forward together."
Kelly Lee, Managing Director of BSD Consultancy, said “The Queen Bee Programme enables companies such as WCT to play an advocacy role in encouraging suppliers and key partners to take their first steps in sustainability and carbon tracking, particularly as supply chain readiness and Scope 3 emissions tracking become increasingly important. WCT is well positioned to be among the first movers in pioneering this approach. Through this collaboration, BSD Consultancy looks forward to managing and coordinating the Programme end-to-end, with the support of Climate Asia’s technical expertise.”
Moving forward, WCT will continue to work with its suppliers to strengthen sustainability capabilities through knowledge sharing, capacity building and collaboration. Through the WCT ESG Queen Bee Programme, WCT remains committed to fostering a more sustainable, resilient and responsible supply chain that supports long-term value creation for its stakeholders.
