PETALING JAYA, 18 JUNE 2026 - WCT Holdings Bhd has secured a construction contract worth about RM529 million (AED479 million) in Abu Dhabi, marking another milestone in the company's expansion in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
WCT's subsidiary WCT International Sdn Bhd together with UAE-based Construction General Contracting House Ltd (CGCH) accepted a subcontract award to undertake a major mixed-use development project in Abu Dhabi.
The subcontract was awarded by CGCH to a 50:50 unincorporated joint venture formed between WCT International and CGCH.
Following the award, WCT International and CGCH plan to establish an incorporated joint venture company to execute the formal subcontract agreement and undertake the project works.
The project, known as Yas Living Main Works Package, is being developed by Aldar Development LLC and comprises the construction of three 12-storey commercial and residential buildings across two phases, including basement levels.
Under the scope of works, the joint venture will carry out non-foundational structural works, architectural works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations, as well as external works.
Foundation-related works, including piling and excavation, will be undertaken by other contractors.
The subcontract works are expected to commence in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed within 972 days from the commencement date.
