WCT-CGCH Joint Venture Secures AED 479 Million Yas Living Mixed-Use Development Contract in Abu Dhabi

PETALING JAYA, 18 JUNE 2026 - A joint venture between WCT International Sdn Bhd (WCTISB), a wholly owned subsidiary of WCT Holdings Berhad, and Construction General Contracting House Ltd. (CGCH) has secured a contract valued at AED 479 million (approximately RM 529 million) for the construction of the Yas Living Main Works Package development in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The contract was awarded for a project developed by Aldar Development LLC, one of the UAE’s leading real estate developers, and covers the construction and completion of multiple commercial and residential buildings within the Yas Living community on Yas Island.
Under the agreement, the 50:50 CGC-WCT Joint Venture will undertake the main construction works for a mixed-use development comprising a 12-storey commercial and residential building on Plot C39, including two basement levels, as well as two additional 12-storey commercial and residential buildings on Plot C38, each featuring two basement levels.
The scope of work includes all non-foundational structural works, architectural works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) installations, and external infrastructure and finishing works associated with the development. Foundation-related activities, including piling and excavation works, will be executed under separate contracts.
The project forms part of Aldar’s ongoing expansion of the Yas Living community, which is designed to provide modern residential and commercial facilities within one of Abu Dhabi’s most prominent lifestyle and entertainment destinations.
Construction activities are expected to commence during the third quarter of 2026, with project completion scheduled within 972 days from the commencement date.
Following the contract award, WCTISB and CGCH will establish a dedicated incorporated joint venture company on a 50:50 ownership basis to formally execute and deliver the project works.
The award strengthens WCT Holdings’ presence in the Middle East construction market and reinforces its capabilities in delivering large-scale mixed-use developments across the region.
