25 May 2022

Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei) and WCT Land Sdn Bhd (WCTL), a subsidiary of WCT Holdings Berhad (WCT), will explore and develop digital transformation solutions and artificial intelligence-enabled (AI) business models for implementation in WCT’s real estate development.

In a statement, Huawei said it will be WCT’s technology partner in its digital transformation initiatives and both parties will work together to explore opportunities in developing suitable digital solutions to maximise the potential of WCTL’s portfolio of real estate development projects.

Huawei said it will share its expertise and best practices on an open data platform using cloud computing and AI to optimise WCTL’s operational efficiency and product innovation.

The collaboration will see the development of smart digital solutions to enhance public safety and security in WCTL’s retail malls and residential development, it added.

WCTL said its commitment to sustainable and smart community living will be further supported by Huawei’s solar technology and AI infrastructure.

By forging this strategic partnership, both companies said they will also work towards equipping Malaysians with in-demand digital knowledge.

Peter Chow, WCT’s deputy managing director said, “This strategic partnership will deliver value-added products and services that will elevate the lifestyle of our communities and provide high-quality customer experiences.”

Huawei Malaysia’s vice president of cloud and AI, Lim Chee Siong said, “At Huawei, we always look forward to contributing towards or collaborating with Malaysia’s public and private sectors.

“This partnership with WCT Land is in line with our efforts to bring digital to local companies,” he said.
