LE MERIDIEN Hotels & Resorts, which is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 extraordinary brands, announced the opening of Le Meridien Petaling Jaya on June 1.
Owned by Jelas Puri Sdn Bhd, the new hotel features 300 guest rooms, dining options and unique brand programmes for guests.
Taking a cue from the brand’s mid-century modern design aesthetic, the property will bring Le Meridien’s distinctive European heritage to Petaling Jaya.
“We are thrilled to announce the opening of Le Meridien Petaling Jaya in Malaysia.
“The opening marks the fourth hotel by the Le Meridien brand in the country.
“We are committed to bringing the best hospitality experiences and expanding our portfolio further to offer distinctive and personalised experiences to travellers in the region,” said Marriott International Singapore, Malaysia, Maldives area vice-president Rivero Delgado.
The hotel also offers extensive event spaces for hosting meetings, business conferences, social gatherings and weddings.
The comprehensive meeting and event spaces include a 1,700sq m pillarless grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests.
There are two dining destinations – the all-day-dining restaurant, Pasar Baru and PJ’s Bar & Grill, which is the largest rooftop bar in Petaling Jaya that doubles up as a sophisticated restaurant with a private cigar lounge, next to the outdoor infinity-edge rooftop pool.“We are delighted with the opening of Le Meridien Petaling Jaya in one of the most recognisable commercial and residential hubs in Malaysia.
“We look forward to welcoming guests to unlock the sights, sounds and aromas of the destination, showcasing European-inspired hospitality and enriching experiences to savour the moment,” said Le Meridien Petaling Jaya general manager Christopher Moore.
The hotel was formerly known as New World Petaling Jaya Hotel and is located at Paradigm, Jalan SS7/26 in Petaling Jaya.
