WCT Berhad was awarded a main contract work by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia to undertake and execute for the Proposed Extension and Upgrading of Sultan Ismail Petra Airport, Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bahru, Kelantan, Malaysia.
The scope of works encompasses the building works, landside infrastructure works, airside infrastructure works and all engineering works for the design, construction, supply, installation, completion, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the existing Sultan Ismail Petra Airport.
Phase 1 of the project including the terminal building with a dedicated VIP lounge, 14 check-in counters, baggage handling system, 3 aerobridges, an elevated car park, substations, DVOR and landing instrumentation system, 2 taxiways, namely Taxiways E and L and apron parking was completed in May 2024.
