Sepang, 1 April 2024 – WCT Malls Management Sdn Bhd, the property investment and mall management business under WCT Holdings Berhad (“WCT Group) today announced the launch of its "Relax, Reunite & Be Rewarded" campaign, coinciding with the unveiling of its revamped Transportation Hub under the leadership of Asia Success Resources Sdn Bhd.

Among the remarkable transformations undergone by the Transportation Hub is the implementation of smart AI technology for automation, revolutionizing various processes from announcements to security. These enhancements not only improve operational efficiency but also ensure a seamless and stress-free experience for passengers. Additionally, the hub has been upgraded from Grade B to Grade A, aligning with the stringent standards set by Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).

"With an investment of approximately RM3.5 million, we have significantly upgraded the KLIA Terminal 2 Transportation Hub's facilities. For instance, to enhance operational efficiency and elevate passengers' experience, we have implemented a Centralised Ticketing System, Smart System, and AI-powered Terminal Operating System. These advanced systems allow us to stay resilient and technologically competitive,” commented Mr. Aaron Chuah B.C.M, CEO of ttklia.com by Asia Resources Sdn Bhd.

Additionally, passengers who visit the transportation hub’s website will be greeted in multilingual languages, and can expect more languages such as Japanese, Arabic, and Hindu. Meanwhile, in providing passengers with a convenient and hassle-free payment experience, the hub will also be implementing a cashless system at the bus station starting from April 15th, 2024. The system will accept all forms of ewallet and cards.

Present to grace the event was YB Anthony Loke, Minister of Transport Malaysia, who shared that the Ministry of Transport has implemented terminal licensing under the Land Public Transport Act 2010 [Act 715] to ensure nationwide supervision of terminal operations. The move aims to establish government oversight by setting conditions for operation, including facility maintenance, vehicle and passenger movement control, safety measures, and terminal charges. Terminals are now licensed and rated as Grade A, B, or C based on the quality of facilities provided, encompassing amenities for passengers, bus drivers, enforcers, and the public. Grade A terminals are required to offer facilities for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to qualify for the highest rating.

“For the implementation of this terminal licensing, APAD conducted roadshows throughout Peninsular Malaysia through several engagement sessions. These sessions were arranged as soon as the regulations were gazetted to interested parties and stakeholders, especially all terminal operators nationwide. Additionally, APAD also conducted initial audits at major state terminals, including the Transportation Hub at KLIA Terminal 2 As a result of these audits, the Transportation Hub in KLIA Terminal 2 was an example of a terminal eligible for an A-grade terminal rating. The Ministry of Transport hoped that more terminals would achieve an A-grade terminal rating, especially for major state terminals, for user convenience," said Loke.

The launching of the new revamped Transportation Hub coincides with the launching of the Relax, Reunite & Be Rewarded campaign, which aims to enhance the shopping experience for travellers and reward their loyalty, while the hub sets new standards in efficiency, safety, and passenger experience.
