Mall Hosts Children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary KL to a Wonderful Hari Raya Haji Day Out in Conjunction with the Campaign

SEPANG, 27 June 2022 –Malaysian-made cartoons hold a special place in our hearts. The animation industry in Malaysia has rapidly modernised through the use of digital technology in production houses. Since then, some animation works have succeeded in promoting Malaysia globally with content based on the country’s culture while emphasising on universal values.

To extend support for the local animation industry, gateway@klia2, one of the airport malls under WCT Malls Management Sdn Bhd (“WCT Malls”) is bringing you a month-long cartoon fiesta through its ‘Jom, Kartun Together-gether’ campaign this July. This campaign features a series of iconic homegrown animated characters and cartoons fondly enjoyed by all Malaysians. Cartoons such as Didi & Friends, Omar & Hana, Boboiboy & Ejen Ali are set to be featured at the airport mall on weekends accompanied by exciting games and activities.

With the relaxed SOPs, and borders fully opened, it is time for Malaysia to once again market to the world our uniqueness and creativity. We are excited to bring to you a campaign that provides a platform for local talents in the animation industry to showcase their creativity to tourists who arrive at gateway@klia2. We hope this “Jom, Kartun Together-gether” campaign will bring families together for a day filled with edutainment activities and workshops while allowing children to meet their favourite characters in person.”

Throughout the campaign period, these famous characters will be displayed at the common area of the mall to provide photo opportunities to the mall’s patrons and fans alike. Each display will feature a unique QR code which allows shoppers to redeem a mystery gift from the Concierge Counter at Level 2 of the mall.

Complementing the splendid displays are a wide range of fun workshops, activities and games lined up every weekend throughout the campaign duration Participate in the colouring contest slated for every weekend of July to win exclusive character merchandise. More excitement will be coming your way with Meet & Greet sessions with Didi & Friends, Omar & Hana, BoBoiBoy & Ejen Ali on the weekend of 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16 ,17, 23, 24, 30 and 31 July respectively.

 

Other notable activities that patrons can look forward to at the mall include a sand art workshop on 2 and 3 July 2022, Galaxy Card Mini Championship and DIY contest that’s happening on the weekend of 23 and 24 July 2022, as well as Word Scramble & Code Breaking, Quiz & IRIS DIY and Intel Hunt slated for the last weekend of July.

As part of gateway@klia2’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative and in line with WCT Group’s #WeCareTogether philosophy, the mall will be hosting 30 children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary KL to a wonderful Hari Raya Haji Day-out at the mall where they will be given the opportunity to greet Omar & Hana and participate in fun workshops and indulge in scrumptious meal courtesy of gateway@klia2.

“Hari Raya Haji is a time for us to express compassion and charity for others. Through this initiative, we hope to make the celebration brighter especially for the underprivileged community, because we believe that a simple act of kindness can go a long way,” added Chua.

Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary KL is a foster home that houses a total of 30 children from poor families, dysfunctional families, single parents, and full orphans. The home is running with donations collected from good hearted individuals, well-wishers, philanthropists and corporate organisations.
