13 November 2025
WCT Holdings Berhad has completed another meaningful CSR initiative – WCTGives “Uniting Communities, Building the Nation” (WCTGives Mengeratkan Komuniti Bersama Membina Negara) at Kampung Sungai Kembong Hilir, Kajang.

Guided by WCTGives pillars of #WeCareTogether and #EducationForAll, this initiative focused on revitalising the 80-year-old balai raya and enhancing surrounding facilities that support learning, social development, and community well-being for more than 2,000 residents.

The launch event, held on 17 November 2025, was graced by Datuk Ab Wahab Bin Khalil, Immediate Past Independent Non-Executive Director of WCT Holdings Berhad and a firm supporter of the Group's CSR efforts, and joined by 15 WCT employee volunteers.

Did You Know?

The 300 books for the reading corner were thoughtfully sourced as pre-loved books from NGOs and second-hand bookstores, including Tzu Chi Bookstore, Books and Bobs, Bookaholics Anonymous, and Books for a Better World. By choosing pre-loved materials, we not only promote sustainable reading habits but also support organisations like Tzu Chi Foundation Malaysia, which channel proceeds from book sales towards charitable activities.

Behind the Scenes: Preparing the Books
Ahead of the event, on 29 October 2025, WCT volunteers helped clean and prepare books – removing price tags, wiping off dust, and ensuring each book was in good condition for immediate use at the newly created reading corner.

With the upgraded balai raya, residents of Kampung Sungai Kembong Hilir now have a safer and more conducive space for classes, meetings, and recreational activities that bring the community together. Through WCTGives, this initiative reinforces WCT’s commitment to enhancing community development and well-being.
