Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy
WCT is committed to human rights in all aspects of our operations. This policy extends to all members of our organisation and stakeholders, embedding human rights as one of WCT’s values. WCT is guided by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights principles to endeavour towards no child and forced labour, fair employment and remuneration, safe workplaces, freedom of association, and zero tolerance for harassment.
1.0 OBJECTIVE

The objective of this Policy is to outline the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion policies of WCT which are as follows:

1.1 To be responsible in managing our business in a manner that is consistent with fundamental diversity, equity and inclusion.

1.2 To value and leverage the contributions of employees with different perspectives, cultures and backgrounds to create a stronger and more cohesive work environment.

1.3 To be committed to equal opportunity, intolerance of discrimination and harassment, and to support and uphold the elimination of discriminatory practices with respect to all aspects of employment.

1.4 To create a work environment where all employees are treated fairly and respectfully regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, ability or religion.

2.0 SCOPE

This Policy applies to all Directors and employees of WCT Group of companies and its subsidiaries including such persons who are on contract, apprenticeship or any persons by whatever description under the supervision of WCT.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 WCT Group recognizes the significance of diversity, equity and inclusion in enhancing sustainable growth and development at the workplace and in promoting better corporate governance within the Group.

3.2 We are committed to promoting the concept of diversity from a number of aspects, including but not limited to skills, knowledge, professional/industry experiences, gender, age, cultural and educational background, ethnicity and length of service.

3.3 The Company strives to build a workforce that reflects diversity in all aspects of its people management, including and not limited to recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, training and development, promotions, transfer, and performance management.

3.4 Selection and appointment of candidates and senior management will be based on a range of Diversity Perspectives as described above without discrimination on gender, age, religion and ethnic group. The ultimate decision will be based on merit and potential contribution that the selected candidate will bring to the Board and the Group to achieve its corporate and commercial goals and to maintain sustainable growth through a healthy, harmonious and professional workplace.

3.5 WCT Group is committed to a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and free from any form of unlawful discriminatory practices on the basis of race, colour, gender, religion, political opinion, national extraction or social origin, which has the effect of nullifying or impairing equality of opportunity or treatment in employment or occupation.

3.6 The Company endeavors to ensure that all matters pertaining to the terms and conditions of employment of its employees shall be treated fairly and under no circumstances authorizes any practices that can amount to forced labour in its organisations.

3.7 It is the responsibility of every stakeholder to drive the initiatives of personalising and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion. The following section outlines the roles and responsibilities at all levels in driving and supporting our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives:

3.7.1 Top Management
a) Lead by example and promote a groupwide culture that is supportive of human rights, diversity, equity and inclusion and access to equal employment opportunity and fair treatment.
b) Perform periodic reviews to ensure that our policy covers all aspects of our business.

3.7.2 All Business Unit Heads/Heads of Department/Project Directors/
a) Ensure that this Policy relating to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is communicated to all employees and implemented across the respective business functions.
b) Create awareness and be a role model for subordinates and peers, as well as behaving openly and inclusively in their daily interactions.

3.7.3 Employees
a) Observe strictly and comply with this Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy at all times.
b) Treat each other with respect and dignity by embracing and valuing individual differences.

3.7.4 Human Resources and Administration Department
a) Review and enhance this Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy as and when necessary.
b) Provide Diversity, Equity and Inclusion related training, guidance and support for execution.

4.0 IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS POLICY

WCT will ensure that this Policy is disseminated to all employees and relevant stakeholders. All new employees must be trained on the content of this Policy as part of their induction into the Company.

It is the responsibility of every manager to ensure that all his/her employees are aware of this Policy.

5.0 REVISION HISTORY

Management reserves the right to review / modify / amend / cancel this policy. When there is a change in the policy, this document needs to be updated with a version number and duly approved by the Group Managing Director / Deputy Group Managing Director.
