Strengthening Integrity Through Anti-Bribery Awareness Training

WCT continues to strengthen its culture of integrity, transparency and ethical conduct through Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption ("ABAC") Training provided to employees across the Group. ABAC training is provided to all new employees, and existing employees attend a refresher session every five years of service.
The training provides employees with a comprehensive understanding of anti-bribery and anti-corruption requirements. It covers the common forms of bribery, including dealing and/or accepting commissions and incentives, kickbacks, facilitation payments and other unofficial payments. The training also addresses the appropriate handling of gifts and entertainment, political contributions, donations, charitable support and sponsorship. Beyond bribery, the training covers other forms of corruption and misconduct, including fraud, abuse of power, conflicts of interest, misuse of confidential information, collusion with third parties, and embezzlement or misappropriation of company assets.
Employees are also introduced to key elements of WCT's anti-bribery and anti-corruption framework. These include the Group's Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy, relevant requirements under Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (as amended in 2018), whistleblowing mechanisms, bribery and corruption risk assessment, roles and responsibilities, and relevant controls and procedures.
The training also reinforces the TRUST principles for adequate procedures: Top Level Commitment, Risk Assessment, Undertake Control Measures, Systematic Review, Monitoring and Enforcement, and Training and Communication. Together, these support employees in recognising, preventing and responding appropriately to bribery and corruption risks.
In addition, WCT's Engineering and Construction Division, comprising WCT Berhad and WCT Construction Sdn Bhd, is certified to ISO 37001:2025 Anti-Bribery Management System ("ABMS") by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd. This certification provides an additional structured framework within the Division to support the prevention, detection and management of bribery risks.
Through ongoing training and awareness initiatives, WCT aims to reinforce responsible business practices and equip employees with the knowledge needed to uphold the Group's standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
