Strengthening Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness at WCT
28 July 2026
Members of the WCT Engineering & Construction and Property Development Emergency Response Teams (ERT) recently completed the Kursus Pasukan Keselamatan Kebakaran Kesedaran Awam, a two-day fire safety training programme conducted by the Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM) Petaling Jaya on 28 and 29 July 2026.

The two-day programme combined classroom learning sessions held at The Ascent, Paradigm PJ, with hands-on training at JBPM Petaling Jaya. Participants gained a better understanding of fire safety awareness, evacuation procedures, fire hazards identification and the proper use of firefighting equipment, including fire extinguishers and fire hoses.

Employees learned emergency evacuation procedures and basic first aid techniques during the technical training session at The Ascent, Paradigm PJ.

Participants received hands-on training on the proper handling of fire hoses and the safe use of fire extinguishers to control small fires.

The training strengthened the ERT members’ knowledge, practical skills and readiness to respond effectively during fire-related emergencies. It also forms part of the team’s ongoing preparations for the upcoming Emergency Evacuation Drill.

The programme reflects WCT’s continued commitment to fostering a safe workplace environment and enhancing emergency response readiness across the Group.
